BuzzWire

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BuzzWire ("we", "us", "our"), a service operated by Ranjeet Kumar Vimal, an individual (sole proprietor) based in Bangalore, India and trading as "BuzzWire", collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our website, application and services (the "Service"). BuzzWire helps Instagram creators and businesses automate replies through Meta's official Instagram API. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider) and plan.
  • Instagram information — with your permission, and only through Meta's official API: details of the Instagram Business/Creator account you connect, and the comments, story replies and direct messages that trigger or relate to your automations, including message content and the Instagram usernames or IDs of people who interact with you.
  • Contact information you collect — if you use in-DM lead capture (a Pro feature), the names and email addresses your audience choose to share with you. This data belongs to you — see "Your contacts' data" below.
  • Payment information — processed by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments. We do not receive or store full card numbers; we receive limited billing information (for example, that a payment succeeded, your plan, country and card last-4).
  • Usage and device information — log data, device and browser information, IP address, and cookies/analytics to operate, secure and improve the Service.
  • Support communications — the information you share when you contact us.

2. How we use information

  • to provide and operate the Service and your automations, and to send messages on your behalf through Meta's API;
  • to apply safety features and help keep accounts within platform limits;
  • to process payments and manage subscriptions through our Merchant of Record;
  • to provide support, analytics and product improvements;
  • to communicate with you about the Service; and
  • to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of: performance of our contract with you; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service; your consent (where required, for example for certain cookies); and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Instagram and Meta data

We access Instagram data only through Meta's official APIs, only with the permissions you grant, and only to provide the Service to you in line with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time, which stops processing for that account. If a message is deleted on Instagram, our system removes the stored copy upon receiving Meta's deletion signal.

5. How we share information

We share information with trusted service providers who help us run BuzzWire, under agreements that limit their use of the data. These currently include Meta Platforms (the Instagram API); Dodo Payments (payments and Merchant of Record); and our cloud hosting, database, queuing, email-delivery and analytics providers (such as Vercel, Supabase, Upstash, Resend and Google). This list may change over time; a current list is available on request. We may also disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell your data.

6. Your contacts' data

When you use BuzzWire to message and capture information from your audience, you decide what to send and who to contact. As between you and BuzzWire, you are the controller of your contacts' personal data and BuzzWire acts as a processor handling that data on your behalf and under your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis and any required consent to contact people and collect their information, for providing them any required privacy notices, and for honouring their rights and opt-outs, in compliance with applicable laws (including GDPR, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, CASL and the Australian Spam Act).

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, unless a longer period is required by law. Disconnecting your Instagram account removes its associated contact data; deleting your account deletes your data, subject to any legal retention requirements.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption of sensitive tokens and access controls — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We are based in India and use providers that may process data in other countries. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal data.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK residents have rights under the GDPR. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including to know, delete, correct and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. To exercise any right, email support@buzzwire.io; we will respond as required by law. You can also disconnect Instagram or delete your account at any time.

11. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics (for example, Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager). You can control cookies through your browser settings.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice where appropriate.
