Starting price for one sponsored Reel
$450
2 a month ≈ $900 before fees and tax.
| Format | Starting price | Typical range for your tier |
|---|---|---|
| Reel | $450 | $200–$1,000 |
| Feed post | $250 | $100–$600 |
| Carousel | $320 | $130–$800 |
| Story (1 frame) · indicative | $100 | $35–$300 |
Compare with two common rules of thumb
- $100 per 10,000 followers (Hootsuite): $250 per post.
- Followers × engagement × $0.05–$0.15 (Shopify): $30–$95 per post.
Both are rules some brands and agencies use, not research. They can land far from survey medians, which is why the table above uses the survey data.
Estimates, not quotes. Usage rights, exclusivity, niche, audience location and your own results all move the price.
How much do Instagram influencers make per post?
These are typical fees for one sponsored deliverable, by follower tier. The Reel column is Later’s published median range. The other columns apply Aspire’s survey ratios to it, so treat them as estimates.
| Tier | Followers | Reel | Feed post | Carousel | Story (indicative) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nano | under 10K | $100–$200 | $50–$120 | $65–$160 | $20–$60 |
| Micro | 10K–100K | $200–$1,000 | $100–$600 | $130–$800 | $35–$300 |
| Mid-tier | 100K–500K | $1,500–$5,000 | $750–$3,000 | $940–$4,000 | $260–$1,500 |
| Macro | 500K–1M | $5,000–$7,000 | $2,500–$4,200 | $3,150–$5,600 | $880–$2,100 |
| Mega | 1M+ | from $7,000 | from $3,500 | from $4,400 | from $1,250 |
USD, one deliverable, base fee before usage rights or exclusivity. Later publishes no separate figure above 1M followers, so that row starts where its top tier ends.
How the Instagram money calculator works
- Your tier sets the range. Followers decide which of Later’s tiers you’re in, and that tier’s median Reel range is the floor and ceiling.
- Followers place you inside it. The further through the tier you are, the higher the starting price. We measure that on a log scale, so going from 10K to 20K counts as much as 50K to 100K.
- Engagement nudges it. We compare your engagement rate with IQFluence’s benchmarks for your tier. Top-quartile engagement moves you up; bottom-quartile moves you down. This step is our own method, not a published formula.
- Other formats follow from the Reel. A feed post is about 55% of the Reel price and a carousel about 29% more than a post, from Aspire’s survey ratios. Stories are the cheapest deliverable and often bundled, so their numbers are indicative only.
What changes what you can charge
- Usage rights and partnership ads. If a brand wants to run your content as an ad or reuse it, Later’s 2026 pricing guide says creators typically add 30–50%.
- Exclusivity. Agreeing not to work with competitors for a time adds a premium. Longer windows and broader categories cost more.
- Niche. In Aspire’s survey, home design creators had the highest median Reel rate ($1,500) and beauty creators the lowest ($225), across all tiers surveyed.
- Proof. Average Reel views, saves, link clicks and past results let you price above the middle of your range.
- The market for small deals. On Collabstr’s marketplace, Instagram deals averaged $193 in 2025, and about 80% of all deals cost under $300. Most small creators start low and raise rates as demand grows.
Brand deals aren’t the only way to make money on Instagram
Many creators earn more from affiliate links and their own products than from sponsored posts, and those don’t need a brand to say yes. A post that asks people to comment a keyword can send each of them your link in a DM.

How much do Instagram influencers make per post?
It depends mostly on followers. Later’s creator survey puts the median fee for one sponsored Reel at $100–$200 under 10K followers, $200–$1,000 at 10K–100K, $1,500–$5,000 at 100K–500K and $5,000–$7,000+ above 500K. Static posts usually cost about half to 60% of a Reel, according to Aspire’s survey of nearly 1,200 creators.
How much money do you make with 10,000 followers on Instagram?
Instagram doesn’t pay for followers. Money comes from brand deals, affiliate links, your own products and Instagram’s own programs. For brand deals, a creator with 10,000 followers sits at the bottom of Later’s micro tier: about $200 for a sponsored Reel. $130 for a feed post is a reasonable starting point.
How much do you make with 100K followers?
At 100K you move into the mid tier, where Later’s median Reel fees run $1,500–$5,000. Where you land in that range depends on your engagement, niche and how many brands want your audience. Run your own numbers in the calculator above.
Does engagement rate change what I can charge?
Yes. Brands pay for attention, not follower counts, and survey reports say engagement moves rates. No source publishes a fixed multiplier, so this calculator uses a simple method of its own: a higher engagement rate for your tier moves your starting price up within the tier range, and a lower one moves it down.
Does Instagram pay you for views?
Not directly. Instagram has no per-view payout for most creators. It runs invite-only bonuses in some countries, plus subscriptions, gifts and badges that fans pay for. Our guide to how to monetize Instagram covers each one.
Should I charge extra for usage rights?
Usually, yes. When a brand wants to reuse your content in its own ads or run it from your handle (partnership ads), Later’s 2026 pricing guide says creators typically add 30–50% to the base rate. Exclusivity is priced on top, and longer windows cost more.
